Outsourcing Should Come from The Best Possible Locality 23 May 2007
 

Offshoring sounds simple, because it is so, but it may not be necessarily the best solution and from the best location.

Today offshoring is closely termed as global services. Its time that service providers and clients around the world to realize, that this service has to come from the best location - nevertheless if its down the street or in some other part of the world and regardless of how well trained the offshore team is.

Customer do not care much about who is doing offshoring business. All they want is good service when they seek information. The consumer is also literally not aware about the other side of the business story like; it reduces cost on the company, when the company decides for outsourcing, and that it enhances shareholder value, so these are some of the factor consumer is not bothered about.

Take for example the outsourcing work to India, the fear of security issues kept popping up, this further adds to the already bitter concern about job cuts. And people more likely to attract to these stories are particularly from the developed economies like US and UK.

The latest news to do the round is about the quality of service, rather than other serious issue of labour arbitrage. Some companies in UK just want to stay way from outsourcing to India. They air their view to convey the idea, that "they never do business outside the country". It is more to do with the belief that nine out of ten UK consumers are not comfortable talking about their financial details with a third party or offshore office.

Companies across will have to take a pragmatic view on this issue. There is a need to accept the fact that there are many different kinds of dealing that a customer may have with a company. "And it is the type of dealings that will prove how much success the venture is".

Many Indian companies have already proved their mettle successful in some of their core function in outsourcing, resulting this India is now exporting their expertise across the world.

Indian offshore outsourcing stories sometime heats up many of a debate. Many of the top management strategy are talking about the way offshore outsourcing is done successfully in this part of the world.

So this goes on to prove that it is the quality that finally makes the impact and not the location.
